Job Description:
Key Responsibilities,
MySQL Cluster Management & High Availability
Design, deploy, and maintain MySQL Clusters (InnoDB Cluster, Group Replication, Galera Cluster, NDB Cluster) for high availability and fault tolerance.
Configure and manage replication (master-slave, multi-source), failover strategies, and backup/recovery solutions.
Ensure 99.9%+ uptime with disaster recovery planning and automated failover mechanisms.
Performance Tuning & Query Optimization
Analyze and optimize slow queries, indexing strategies, and execution plans for maximum efficiency.
Fine-tune MySQL configuration (my.cnf/my.ini), buffer pools, caching, and connection handling.
Implement performance benchmarking (sysbench, mysqlslap) and load testing to simulate production workloads.
Resolve locking, deadlocks, and concurrency issues in high-traffic environments.
Monitoring, Alerting & Proactive Maintenance
Set up real-time monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana) for database health.
Create custom alerts for performance degradation, replication lag, or resource exhaustion.
Perform capacity planning,



trend analysis, and proactive scaling of database infrastructure.

Security, Compliance & Automation
Enforce database security best practices (encryption, RBAC, audit logging).
Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts (Bash/Python) and tools (Ansible, Terraform).
Collaborate with DevOps to integrate databases into CI/CD pipelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years as a MySQL DBA in large-scale, high-transaction environments.

Expert-level knowledge of:
MySQL Clustering (InnoDB Cluster, Galera, Group Replication)
Query optimization (EXPLAIN ANALYZE, indexing, partitioning)
Performance tuning (OS-level optimizations, InnoDB settings)
Monitoring tools (PMM, VividCortex, Datadog, Enterprise Monitor)
Solid scripting skills (Bash, Python, SQL) for automation.
Experience with backup tools (Percona XtraBackup, mysqldump) and point-in-time recovery.
