Designation: Senior Manager - DPDPA

Salary - upto 15 LPA

Job Location - Mumbai - Goregaon

We are looking for a candidate with 4–5 years of experience in data governance, compliance, or risk management, preferably in the insurance or BFSI sector.

The role involves implementing DPDPA compliance, data classification programs, and governance frameworks.

- Strong understanding of Indian privacy laws, including DPDPA and IT Act, is required.

Qualification Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Law, or a related discipline.

Roles and responsibilities

- Serve as the main expert and first point of contact for all DPDPA (Digital Personal Data Protection Act) compliance matters.
- Develop and maintain policies and processes to ensure ongoing DPDPA compliance throughout the organization.
- Lead the creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of data governance frameworks that ensure accountability and regulatory alignment.
- Oversee enterprise-wide data classification initiatives to identify and categorize personal and sensitive data according to DPDPA and insurance sector guidelines.
- Define security controls such as encryption, access management, retention, and secure data sharing for each category of data.
- Manage all stages of the data lifecycle: collection, secure storage, use, sharing, archiving, and deletion—ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and data protection impact assessments; ensure organizational engagement with relevant regulators.
- Lead and deliver cross-functional projects on DPDPA, data governance, classification, and lifecycle management.
- Provide training and foster awareness on data privacy,



governance, and compliance best practices across the organization.
- Support incident response and remediation involving data privacy or governance issues.

• Collaborate closely with IT, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Data Engineering, and business teams for integrated data management. Required Skills • Deep understanding of DPDPA and broader Indian data protection regulations.

- Technical proficiency with data architecture, secure data flows, and data security controls.
- Experience with data discovery, classification, and data management tools.
- Robust leadership and stakeholder management capabilities; ability to drive cross-functional outcomes.
- Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and critical thinking for risk identification and remediation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to deliver trainings and interact with senior leadership.

Project management certification (such as PMP or PRINCE2), and/or data privacy/data engineering certifications (preferred)

- Proven expertise in Indian data privacy laws, especially DPDPA, as well as data governance frameworks and data lifecycle management.
- Experience in leading data classification programs and implementing controls for sensitive and personal data.
- Direct experience conducting risk and impact assessments and engaging with regulatory authorities.
