About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team at SHRIRAM GENERAL INSURANCE CO. LTD. Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management,



or a related field. Prior experience in insurance underwriting or risk assessment is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical and decision-making skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in using underwriting software and MS Office tools.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external clients. A thorough understanding of insurance policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices is essential.

Certification in insurance or risk management (such as CPCU or RIMS) will be considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

Review and evaluate insurance applications to determine risk profiles and appropriate policy terms.

Analyze various risk factors including applicant history, property details, and market conditions to make informed underwriting decisions.

Develop and recommend policy pricing strategies that align with company goals and risk appetite.

Collaborate with sales, claims, and actuarial teams to ensure seamless policy issuance and claims processing.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to inform underwriting practices.





Assist in the development of new insurance products and improve existing policies based on market insights and customer feedback.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal guidelines during the underwriting process.

Prepare detailed reports and documentation for management review and audit purposes.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters and support staff as needed.
