About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer specializing in Connectivity to join our dynamic team at Stellantis. This pivotal role involves leading the development and integration of sophisticated in-vehicle connectivity solutions that enable seamless communication between vehicle systems, mobile devices, cloud platforms, and infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the future of connected vehicles by designing robust embedded software architectures that adhere to industry standards and ensure safety, security, and reliability.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware vendors, cybersecurity experts, and cloud engineers, to deliver innovative connectivity solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers and industry regulations.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 7 to 9 years of embedded software development experience is required, with at least 3 years specifically in automotive connectivity and embedded automotive software development. Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages,
along with extensive experience working in embedded RTOS or Linux environments, is essential.
Candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, UDS, and DoIP, as well as familiarity with wireless technologies including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE/5G, and GNSS.
Experience with automotive development tools like Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, and ETAS INCA is highly desirable. Additionally, a solid understanding of functional safety standards (ISO 26262), cybersecurity principles, and automotive middleware such as SOMEIP and D-Bus is necessary. Familiarity with build environments like Make, CMake, and Yocto, along with experience guiding large global teams in ASPICE and SW quality processes, will be advantageous.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and validation of embedded connectivity software for automotive telematics control units (TCUs) across various vehicle architectures, including CAN and Ethernet.
- Support and mentor development teams in quality assurance activities and software development processes, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with subsystem and vehicle validation teams to integrate TCUs with gateway modules, infotainment systems, and connected services.
- Work closely with hardware vendors, cybersecurity teams, and cloud engineers to deliver secure and reliable connectivity solutions.
- Ensure compliance with automotive standards such as AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, and ISO/SAE 21434, maintaining safety and security throughout the development lifecycle.
- Drive the integration of software with cloud services for functionalities like over-the-air (OTA) updates, remote diagnostics, and telematics data streaming.
- Participate in supplier evaluations and oversee the integration of third-party connectivity modules and stacks.
- Support debugging, root cause analysis, and validation activities using automotive-grade diagnostic tools and methodologies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes, ensuring high quality and efficiency in project delivery.
