We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Shopify Developer with strong core knowledge of the Shopify ecosystem. We need someone who can go beyond basic theme customization and app installation and can build, modify, integrate, troubleshoot, and optimize Shopify stores end-to-end.

The ideal candidate should understand how Shopify works at a deeper technical level and be comfortable taking ownership of complex requirements.

What You’ll Work On

- Build and customize Shopify stores from the ground up.
- Develop and modify custom Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Build custom sections, blocks, templates, product pages, collection pages, landing pages, and storefront functionality.
- Work extensively with Shopify Liquid, metafields, metaobjects, product variants, collections, and Shopify data structures.
- Develop custom Shopify apps and functionality when existing apps are not sufficient.
- Work with Shopify Admin API, Storefront API, GraphQL, webhooks, and third-party APIs.
- Integrate Shopify with external platforms such as ERP, CRM, logistics, payment, analytics, marketing, inventory, and other business systems.
- Implement complex product, pricing, discount, cart, checkout, inventory, and order-management requirements within Shopify's capabilities.
- Work with Shopify Functions and Checkout Extensibility where required.
- Diagnose and fix difficult Shopify issues instead of relying only on third-party apps.
- Improve store performance, Core Web Vitals, page speed, SEO fundamentals, and frontend quality.
- Optimize or replace unnecessary Shopify apps and reduce app-related performance issues.
- Build responsive,



accurate storefronts from Figma/design files.
- Maintain existing Shopify stores and safely deploy changes without disrupting live operations.
- Debug issues across themes, apps, APIs, integrations, JavaScript, and Shopify configuration.
- Recommend the right technical approach instead of simply implementing requirements blindly.

Experience with Node.js/TypeScript and React for Shopify app development is strongly preferred. What We Are Specifically Looking ForWe are not looking for someone whose Shopify experience is limited to installing themes, configuring apps, or making basic CSS changes.





We want someone who has actually solved difficult Shopify problems and understands what is happening underneath the platform.

You should be able to take a requirement such as:

“Shopify doesn't provide exactly what we need out of the box. How can we build it?”…and independently determine whether it should be solved through Liquid/theme development, metafields/metaobjects, Shopify Functions, APIs, webhooks, a custom app, an external service, or a combination of these.

Experience

- 3+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience preferred.
- Must have worked on multiple production Shopify stores.
- Experience building at least one custom Shopify app or substantial custom integration is highly desirable.
- Shopify Plus experience is an advantage.
- Experience handling high-traffic or technically complex Shopify stores is a solid advantage.

During the InterviewCandidates should be prepared to show and explain real Shopify work they have personally built. We will be particularly interested in:

- Complex custom functionality you built
- Custom Shopify apps/integrations
- Difficult Shopify problems you solved
- API and webhook implementations
- Performance improvements
- Theme architecture and Liquid work
- Technical decisions and trade-offs you made

We care more about demonstrated Shopify engineering ability and problem-solving skills than certificates or the number of Shopify projects listed on a resume. Ideal CandidateA developer who can own Shopify technically — someone we can give a business requirement to and trust them to understand it, design the solution, build it properly, test it, deploy it, and maintain it.
