Role Description The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for leading the mechanical design and development of textile machinery and related components, ensuring robust, efficient, and manufacturable solutions. Day-to-day activities include creating and reviewing detailed engineering drawings, performing design calculations, collaborating with cross-functional teams (production, quality, service), and supporting prototype build, testing, and design validation.



The role involves optimizing existing products, addressing field feedback, improving reliability and performance, and adhering to relevant standards and safety requirements.

The engineer will also mentor junior team members, contribute to design reviews, and coordinate with global engineering teams as needed. This is a full time, on-site role based in Coimbatore.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with expertise in Design Engineering and Machine Design.
- Proficiency in Product Design and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar).
- Experience in mechanical design for industrial or capital equipment, preferably in textile or allied machinery.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection for mechanical components.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, DFM/DFA principles, and basic understanding of quality and reliability engineering.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- Demonstrated capability to lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and manage multiple design tasks with attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; prior experience in a senior or lead design role is highly desirable.
