We are seeking a motivated law student or recent graduate with a deep interest in the intersection of Agriculture Law, Revenue Law, and Corporate Law. You will work closely with our senior legal advisors and management to ensure that our land assets, acquisitions, and business operations are compliant with Karnataka's specific legal framework. Your work will directly support the due diligence that assures our investors of the safety and transparency of their investment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Agriculture & Revenue Law (Karnataka Specific)
- Land Title & Revenue Document Verification: Assist in the detailed scrutiny of land records, including Record of Rights, Tenancy and Crops (RTCs), Encumbrance Certificates (ECs), Survey Maps (FMBs / Tippans), and _Pahani_ patrika to establish clear and marketable titles.
- Compliance & Conversion: Research and advise on compliance with the Karnataka Land Reforms Act, the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, and the SC/ST (Prohibition of Transfer of Certain Lands) Act.
- Due Diligence:
Support the legal due diligence process for acquiring current agricultural land parcels, identifying any encumbrances, litigation, or revenue discrepancies.
- Agricultural Operation Structuring: Assist in structuring agreements that comply with agricultural tenancy laws and ensure the "managed farmland" model (where owners delegate farming) is legally sound.
2. Corporate & Commercial Law
- Drafting and Vetting: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing a variety of documents, including:
- Sale Deeds and Agreements to Sell for farmland plots.
- Maintenance Agreements and Farm Management Contracts outlining the scope of services between the company and landowners.
- Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and Power of Attorney (PoA/SPA/GPA).
- Corporate Compliance: Assist in maintaining statutory records and ensuring compliance with corporate governance standards under the Companies Act.
