Senior Azure SQL Server Database Developer We're looking for a Senior Azure SQL Server Developer to join our Hyderabad team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving real-world problems, and has hands-on experience in working with SQL Server on Azure Cloud.

Responsibilities

- Design scalable database schema for high-transaction and high-volume applications.
- Collaborate with application developers to design and optimize the database schema, tables, indexes, and relationships to support application requirements and performance.
- Write, debug, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to ensure efficient data retrieval and manipulation by the application.
- Perform Database Maintenance activities like rebuilding/reorganizing indexes and updating statistics.
- Troubleshoot application performance issues and identify SQL Server bottlenecks. Perform index fragmentation and work on server performance tuning.
- Build complex queries, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers, optimized for high performance on Azure SQL.
- Analyze, improve, and resolve slow-running SQL queries in collaboration with application teams.
- Strong in performance tuning and query optimization using Profiler, Execution Plans, Query Store, and Wait Stats.
- Identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks related to application queries, server configuration, and indexing strategies.
- Create and configure PaaS Databases like Azure SQL single database, elastic pools, and Managed instances in Azure Cloud.
- Have very good experience and knowledge of Pricing models of DTU/eDTU vs Vcore Model.
- Experience in Azure SQL Elastic Jobs and Run Books.




- Expertise in packaging and deploying SQL changes across hundreds of databases as part of product releases.
- Must have expert-level hands-on database development experience and database maintenance experience in Azure MS SQL Server.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Tools: SQL SentryOne, SQL Profiler, Dynatrace, Redgate.

Required Skills & Experience

- Excellent hands-on database experience (8 years) and skills in developing complex T-SQL queries, Server Stored Procedures, functions, triggers, views, T-SQL scripts, etc.
- Excellent hands-on MS SQL Server database experience in troubleshooting, debugging, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Ability to hit the ground running and start contributing to deliverables immediately.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Robust problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Work closely with developers, product owners, and QA teams to understand requirements.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.

Nice to Have

- Knowledge of SQL Server licensing and cost optimization strategies in Azure.
- Experience creating alerts, monitoring activity logs, and troubleshooting issues using Azure Portal, Log Analytics, and SQL Insights.
- Managing database security, backups, recovery, and high availability solutions specifically tailored to the needs of the applications they support.

- B.Tech/B.E - Computers, MCA - Computers, MS/M.Sc(Computers)
