Role Purpose
Uses rigorous methods to design, analyze and report on experiments to solve difficult technical problems or enhance fundamental understanding. Serves as technical expert in specialty area to support internal customers. Provides data and support to the scientists in experiment execution. Ensures the lab is in good working order. Acts as the technical expert for all lab techniques and responsibilitiesKey Responsibilities

Acts as technical expert for all lab techniques and responsibilities
Provides oversight for operation and maintenance of highly technical equipment
Provides inputs to experiment design and execution for material properties and processes
Develops methods, tools and techniques to improve processes in the lab
Provides inputs to the writing of IDs and IPs
Makes recommendations for purchasing new equipment, including identifying vendors, collecting quotes and tracking orders
Troubleshoots process and equipment issues and oversees implementation of corrective actions
Conducts day-to-day problem solving for research projects
Tests feasibility of products




Documents data, maintains lab books, writes Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and reports
Works with customers to understand their needs or requirements to run and test samples
Accesses, analyzes and presents data at team meetings
Functions as a team member or team leader on focused projects
Trains and coaches new personnel on equipment and processes
May be asked to participate in developing a new process or machine to improve the current process
