Role Description The Scratch Mentor role at EdifyChamps is a part-time, remote position focused on teaching children the basics of coding and game design using the Scratch programming environment. On a day-to-day basis, the mentor will plan and conduct live online sessions, introduce coding concepts through interactive projects, and guide learners through building animations, stories, and simple games. The mentor will assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching strategies to match different learning styles and paces.

Additional responsibilities include preparing lesson materials, maintaining clear communication with students and guardians,



and documenting session outcomes to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency with Scratch and foundational programming concepts, including variables, loops, events, and simple algorithms.
- Experience teaching or mentoring children in STEM or coding-related subjects in an online or classroom setting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical ideas in simple, engaging language.
- Comfort with online teaching tools and platforms, including video conferencing, screen sharing, and collaborative learning resources.
- Patient, learner-centered approach, with solid classroom management skills in virtual environments and an inclusive teaching style.
- Ability to plan structured lessons, design age-appropriate projects, and adapt content to different skill levels.
- Preferred qualifications: prior experience as a coding instructor or tutor, background in computer science, education, or a related field, and familiarity with other beginner-friendly coding tools.
