Core Responsibilities

Staff nurses are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in collaboration with patients, their families, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Conducting patient assessments to identify care needs and monitor progress.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed, while monitoring for side effects or reactions.
- Recording and maintaining accurate patient records, including vital signs, medical histories, and treatment outcomes.
- Operating and monitoring medical equipment and assisting with diagnostic tests.
- Providing emotional support to patients and families, promoting health education, and encouraging self-care.
- Supervising and mentoring junior staff or students, sharing knowledge and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Ensuring patient safety by recognizing changes in condition, escalating concerns, and following infection control and safety protocols.
