College Circle AI

Bengaluru

College Circle AI is an AI-powered company building the Academic Intelligence Layer for colleges.

Our belief is straightforward

Curiosity should never die in a classroom.

We are working on technology that can understand students, their academic behaviour, and their learning patterns to create more personalised and intelligent learning experiences.

We are looking for a Research Intern who wants to spend the next 8 months working on real research that can become part of the foundation of our product.

The Role

As a Research Intern, you will work with our research and technical teams on areas such as:

- Student Personalisation Models
- Foundation Prediction Models for New Students
- Student learning behaviour
- Academic behaviour and engagement
- Student modelling
- Data-driven learning systems
- AI/ML approaches for personalised education
- Research experiments and model evaluation

You will not simply be given research topics to study. You will be expected to research, experiment, document, validate, and contribute to research that can influence what we build.

What You Will Work On A key focus will be understanding:

How can we understand a student and personalise their learning experience?

You may work on questions around:

- What signals help us understand a student's learning behaviour?
- How can we identify useful patterns from limited student data?
- How can we build an initial prediction model for a new student?
- How can personalisation improve as the student interacts with the platform?
- How can research findings be translated into actual product capabilities?

You will work closely with a broader 5–7 person research team, alongside technical and product teams.

Technical Skills

We are looking for someone with an interest or foundation in:

- Python
- Machine Learning
- Artificial Intelligence
- Statistics
- Data Analysis

- Predictive Modelling
- Research Methodology
- Experiment Design
- Model Evaluation

Knowledge of LLMs, recommendation systems, embeddings, RAG, student modelling, behavioural modelling, or personalised learning systems is an advantage. You do not need to know everything. We value curiosity, analytical thinking, research discipline, and the ability to learn.

Research Publication

One of the key outcomes of this internship is the opportunity to contribute to publishable research.

Research conducted during the internship may be developed into:

- Research papers
- Conference submissions
- Academic publications
- Research reports
- Technical publications

Where the candidate has made a meaningful research contribution, their name will be included appropriately in the publication/authorship according to the contribution and applicable publication guidelines. This means the work you do can become something you can genuinely point to as part of your research profile.

Internship Duration

Duration: 8 Months The extended duration is intentional.

We want researchers to have enough time to move through:

Research Question → Literature Review → Experiment → Data → Model → Evaluation → Findings → Publication

You will be expected to maintain research documentation and contribute consistently throughout the internship.

What We Offer

Real Research

Work on research directly connected to an AI-powered learning product.

Publication Opportunity

Meaningful research contributors can have their contribution recognised through research publications and appropriate authorship.

Research Mentorship

Work with the research and technical team and learn how real research projects are designed and executed.

Technical Learning

Access to learning resources, courses, workshops, and practical exposure to AI/ML systems.

Startup Exposure

Understand how research moves from an idea into an actual product and company.

Student & Academic Network

Access to College Circle AI's growing student and academic ecosystem.

Builder Culture A collaborative environment where you are encouraged to question assumptions, experiment, test ideas, and build.

Team Experiences

College Circle AI merchandise, team meetups, hangouts, and collaborative activities.

Who Should Apply?

This role is ideal for someone who:

- Is genuinely interested in AI/ML research
- Enjoys reading and understanding research papers
- Wants to conduct experiments rather than only study theory
- Can work with data
- Has analytical thinking
- Can document research properly
- Is comfortable learning independently
- Wants to build a research portfolio
- Is interested in personalised learning and student intelligence
- Can commit consistently for 8 months

You do not need to be an expert. We are looking for someone who wants to become one through serious research.

The Opportunity

At the end of this internship, the goal is not simply:

“I completed an internship.”

It should be:

“I contributed to research that helped build the foundation of an AI learning system, worked with a research team, and contributed to publishable work.”
