Special Minds
India
We don't have a shortage of candidates.
We have a shortage of usable ones.
That is the whole reason this job exists.
Special Minds places Learning Support Assistants, one-to-one shadow teachers, with children who have special educational needs, in schools and homes across the UAE.
Our database holds well over a hundred practitioners who registered with us. Only a handful are complete enough to put in front of a client. The rest are missing a photograph, or two named references, or a salary expectation, or permission to be presented at all.
So we are not looking for someone to add another hundred names to that pile.
We are looking for someone who will work through the pile, phone by phone, until every record is complete or honestly closed, and who will then never let an incomplete record be added again.
If that sounds unglamorous, it is. It is also the single thing standing between us and placing more children.
What you'll do
- Repair the database: audit every record, find what's missing, chase it down
- Verify references by phone. Two named referees per candidate, actually spoken to, notes written up
- Source current candidates: job boards, LinkedIn, teacher and therapist groups, referrals
- Post and refresh job ads, and keep them working rather than stale
- Screening calls: first conversation, honest picture of salary and school year
- Collect documents and flag anything that looks like a problem
- A short daily log and a weekly number against your targets
What you won't do
Quote or negotiate our fees. Make or withdraw an offer. Contact a parent,
a family or a child. Or decide whether a candidate may lawfully work in the UAE — you collect and flag the documents, we make that call.
How you'll be measured
On completed records, not CVs sent.
A record is complete when it has a photograph, a CV, two referees actually contacted, an expected salary, an availability date, documented consent, and right-to-work documents collected.
30 complete in month one. 50 more in month two.
The remainder complete or closed in month three, plus 25 new candidates who are complete on entry.
We're looking for
- 2+ years in recruitment coordination, talent sourcing or recruitment admin. An international or Gulf desk is a real advantage — you'll already understand visas, attestation, and why a start date slips
- Fluent, confident English on the phone. Most of this job is spoken, not typed
- Hindi, Malayalam, Arabic or Tamil is genuinely useful, a large share of our candidate pool is diverse, and people tell you more in their own language
- Meticulous with records to the point of irritation
- Reliable internet and power, with a fallback. You are our only recruitment line
You do not need SEN experience, UAE experience, or a psychology or education degree.
We'll teach you the vocabulary in a fortnight. We can't teach the phone manner or the record-keeping.
This isn't for you if you want commission. The role is deliberately fixed-fee, because for the first months the valuable work earns no placement and we don't want it skipped. Or if you count CVs sent as output.
