Role Description The Recovery Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in West Bengal, India. This role involves managing and executing debt recovery activities, including follow-ups with customers, negotiating repayment plans, and ensuring timely collections in line with organizational policies and regulatory guidelines.
The Recovery
Officer will maintain accurate records of recovery actions, prepare reports on portfolio performance, and coordinate with internal teams and banking partners to resolve issues. Daily responsibilities include engaging with customers in a professional manner,
providing clarity on repayment obligations, addressing concerns, and promoting responsible financial behavior. The role requires regular field visits, adherence to ethical collection practices, and contribution to overall portfolio health and risk mitigation.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service abilities to interact respectfully and effectively with diverse customer groups.
- Candidates should possess Debt Collection experience and practical knowledge of Finance to manage recoveries and understand repayment structures.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to assess customer situations, identify risks, and recommend appropriate recovery strategies.
- Candidates should possess clear written and verbal communication skills in relevant local languages and English.
- Relevant experience in microfinance, banking, NBFCs, or field-based collection operations is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site, conduct regular field visits, and manage time and territories effectively.
- Minimum educational qualification such as a diploma or bachelor’s degree in finance, commerce, business, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with basic computer applications and reporting tools to maintain records and documentation is an advantage.
