We are looking for Operations & Production In-Charge for Profile Wire Division at Navsari. This is not a routine shift-management role.

This is a high-impact manufacturing leadership role focused on strengthening production capability, optimizing plant performance, institutionalizing process excellence across diverse product grades, and building a world-class manufacturing ecosystem for precision steel processing.

Company Overview

We are an established precision steel processing and profile wire manufacturing facility delivering high-performance hot-rolled shaped wires. Our products cater to high-criticality applications across automotive, industrial, and specialized engineering sectors including ratchet pawls, horseshoe profiles, wheel side rings, and custom mechanical components. We are seeking a dynamic, technically accomplished Operations & Production In-Charge to lead our plant operations, drive tool room engineering, spearhead roll pass design, and enforce operational excellence.

Position Summary

- Position: Operations & Production In-Charge
- Location: Navsari, Gujarat
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy
- Experience: 6–10 years of hands-on experience in Profile Wire Drawing, Hot Rolling, Bright Bars, or Precision Tool Room & Machining Operations
- Reporting To: Business Unit Head / Plant Head

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

1. Roll Pass Design, Tooling & CAD Engineering

- Interpret complex 2D/3D customer engineering drawings, GD&T;, and component specifications to determine manufacturing feasibility.
- Design hot roll passes, shaped drawing dies/roll,



and forming profiles using AutoCAD and ZW3D / ZW CAM.
- Manage in-house Tool Room Operations, including precision machining, setup, dressing, and reconditioning of profile rolls and dies.
- Hands-on operation and oversight of conventional/CNC Lathes, Cylindrical/Surface Grinding Machines, and tool heat treatment processes—specifically Nitriding and surface hardening to maximize tool life.

2. Target-Driven Production & Shop-Floor Execution

- Lead end-to-end plant operations to meet daily, weekly, and monthly output targets across high-carbon and medium-carbon steel grades.
- Manage reduction schedules, line speeds, and intermediate processes to achieve exact mechanical properties (tensile strength, elongation, decarburization limits) and tight geometric profiles.
- Oversee secondary fabrication processes: Arc welding, MIG welding, butt welding for continuous feeding, gas cutting, abrasive cutting, and shear cutting.
- Ensure premium surface quality via controlled descaling, drawing lubrication, grinding, polishing, and automated finishing lines.

3. Material Planning, Mass Balance & Yield Optimization

- Execute end-to-end material flow planning: Raw Material (Wire Rods) → Work-in-Progress (WIP) → Finished Goods (FG) → Scrap.
- Maintain rigorous Material Balancing & Yield Reconciliation across each production batch to minimize end-cuts, scale loss, and process scrap.
- Establish standard batch sizes and yield commitments for regular and Current Product
- Development (NPD) profiles.





4. Maintenance, Asset Care & TPM

- Formulate and supervise regular, periodic, and preventive maintenance schedules for hot drawing blocks, profile rolling mills, straightening units, shears, and tool-room machinery.
- Minimize unscheduled downtime through autonomous maintenance routines and rapid breakdown troubleshooting.

5. Operational Excellence, Quality & Manpower Management

- Allocate shift manpower efficiently, set daily shift targets, cross-train operators, and evaluate floor performance.
- Enforce institutional 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and continuous improvement frameworks across the shop floor.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA / 8D) on dimensional deviations, surface seams, die lines, or edge cracking to ensure zero defect dispatches.
