Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Production Operations & Safety Engineer to join our Energy Consulting practice.

This role focuses on refinery operations, process safety, and digital operations management, combining strong plant operations expertise with techno-functional consulting and MES/iMOM solution delivery.

The candidate will drive operational excellence, safety compliance, and digital transformation initiatives for global Oil & Gas clients

Key Responsibilities

· Provide domain expertise across:

o Refinery operations (process units, utilities, tank farm)

o Real-time production monitoring and process control o Throughput optimization, yield improvement, and OEE enhancement

· Analyze and optimize:

o Production workflows o Unit performance and bottlenecks o Operational KPIs (uptime, efficiency, deviations)

· Drive implementation and alignment with:

o Process Safety Management (PSM) practices o Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards o Process deviations, alarms, and incident trends o Safety KPIs (LTI, near misses, compliance adherence)

· Lead design and implementation of:

o Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

o Operations Management (Logbooks, workflows, instructions)

o Real-time monitoring dashboards o Production accounting (mass balance, energy accounting)

o KPI tracking (Planned vs Actual, reliability metrics)

· Enable next-gen capabilities:

o Real-time analytics, predictive insights, and AI-driven operations o Digital twins and IoT-enabled operations monitoring

· Drive transition from:

o Manual operations → data-driven decision making o Reactive troubleshooting → predictive operations

· Lead workshops on Operations optimization, Safety transformation,



Digital refinery initiatives and provide consulting recommendations for process and safety improvement

· Translate business needs into Functional requirements, System design specifications

· Contribute to proposals, capability building, and thought leadership

· Mentor junior consultants and support global delivery teams

Required Experience

· 12–18 years in Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical operations o Strong communication and CXO-level presentation capability o Ability to work with IT, OT, and business stakeholders o Hands-on experience in:

o Process operations (CDU/VDU, conversion units, utilities, tank farm)

o Production monitoring & troubleshooting o Safety systems and compliance (PSM, HAZOP exposure preferred)

o Requirement gathering and process mapping o Functional design and solution configuration

Technical Skills

· Strong knowledge of:

o Process control, alarm management, emergency response o Root cause analysis and incident investigation

· Experience with:

o Operational KPIs (throughput, downtime, safety compliance)

o Energy & utility optimization o MES / MOM platforms (AVEVA, AspenTech, Honeywell, Hexagon j5)

· Familiarity with:

o Historian & ERP systems o Data analytics and visualization dashboard o Scheduling, maintenance, and asset systems

Certifications (Preferred)

· Certification or training in MES / safety systems / operations analytics

Preferred Capabilities

· Experience in digital APM transformation programs

· Exposure to AI-driven inspections, drones, or digital twins

· Robust client-facing and consulting skills

· Exposure to digital refinery / smart operations programs

· Experience in global consulting engagements
