Role Description The Production Engineer – Special Projects is a full-time role responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and optimization of production activities for specialized marine and defense systems. The position involves coordinating with design, development, and quality teams to translate technical specifications into efficient manufacturing processes, ensuring that deliverables meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring production schedules, resolving technical and process issues, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting prototype builds and trials.

The role also requires preparing documentation, reports, and production plans while collaborating with vendors and internal stakeholders to maintain timelines and material availability. This is a hybrid role based in Balanagar,



with primary work on-site at the production facility and some flexibility for work-from-home tasks such as documentation, reporting, and coordination.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in production or manufacturing engineering, including process planning, line balancing, and optimization for mechanical or electro-mechanical systems.
- Experience with special projects or prototype builds, including hands-on involvement in assembly, testing, and validation of complex systems.
- Knowledge of marine or defense systems, or related industrial domains, with familiarity in standards, safety requirements, and quality assurance practices.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and bills of materials, and convert them into practical shop-floor instructions.
- Proficiency in basic CAD tools and MS Office for documentation, reporting, and communication; experience with ERP or production tracking tools is an advantage.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering (or a related discipline); relevant experience in manufacturing or defense projects is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and uphold quality, reliability, and continuous improvement principles on the shop floor.
