About the role

We have an exciting role as Data Classification Analyst (Risk & Compliance) and are responsible for managing AI-driven solutions to classify organizational data in alignment with regulatory, legal, and internal compliance requirements for both US and international data sets. This role supports risk mitigation efforts by ensuring that sensitive, confidential, and regulated data is accurately identified, categorized,



and governed across systems using AI/ML tools.

Responsibilities

AI-Driven Data Classification

- Develop, implement, and optimize AI/ML models and tools for automated data classification across structured and unstructured datasets.
- Define, maintain, and update data classification taxonomies aligned with legal, regulatory, and business requirements.
- Evaluate and continuously improve classification accuracy using model training, tuning, and validation techniques.

Risk & Compliance Integration

- Align data classification policies with regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOX, etc.) and other applicable legal and internal policy requirements.
- Partner with legal, compliance, and information security teams to ensure proper identification of sensitive data (PII, confidential, financial, etc.)
- Support audits, regulatory inquiries, and internal reviews by providing classification evidence and reporting.

Data Governance & Controls

- Establish and enforce data classification standards, labeling conventions, and lifecycle management practices.
- Support integration of classification outputs into downstream controls (e.g., access controls, encryption policies)
- Conduct timely reviews of accessible data within products and ensure proper controls are implemented.





Tooling & Technology

- Evaluate and deploy AI-based classification tools (e.g., NLP models, pattern recognition systems, Microsoft Purview, etc.)
- Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to integrate classification solutions into enterprise systems.
- Ensure scalability, performance, and security of classification technologies.

Monitoring & Reporting

- Develop dashboards and reports on classification coverage, accuracy, and risk exposure.
- Track key metrics such as false positives/negatives, classification completeness, and compliance adherence.
- Identify trends, emerging risks, and opportunities for automation improvements.
- Maintain documentation of classification standards and processes.

Stakeholder Collaboration

- Work cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Security, and Data Governance teams across various regions.
- Translate regulatory requirements into technical classification rules and models.
- Provide guidance and training to business units on data classification practices.
- Create actionable and repeatable documentation working with teams to communicate the data classification process and procedure.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in legal / law related discipline, HR
- Experience reviewing and editing contracts
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must have a “can-do” attitude and willingness to “roll up your sleeves”
- Team player with intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn new skills
