We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Power BI Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. This role requires strong analytical skills, expertise in data modeling, and a proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and visually compelling reports.

Responsibilities

Design and Development

Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations to meet business requirements.

Establish data governance and best practices for Power BI content creation and deployment.

Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) in Power BI for secure data access.

Data Modeling & Transformation:

Connect to various data sources (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL DB, Excel, flat files, etc.) and perform necessary data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using Power Query (M language).

Develop and optimize robust data models (star/snowflake schemas) within Power BI Desktop to ensure accuracy and performance.

Write efficient and complex DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) formulas to create custom measures, calculated columns, and tables.

Collaboration and Analysis

Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts,



and data engineering teams to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical specifications.

Conduct thorough unit testing and validation of reports and data models.

Performance tune and troubleshoot Power BI reports and underlying data models for optimum speed and usability.

Administration

Manage and administer the Power BI Service including workspaces, data gateway configurations, and report subscriptions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience: 6-8 years of professional experience in Business Intelligence development, with a strong focus on Microsoft Power BI.

Technical Proficiency

Expert-level skills in Power BI Desktop for report development, data modeling, and visualization design.

Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing complex DAX expressions.

Solid understanding of SQL for querying databases and manipulating data.

Demonstrated experience with data warehousing concepts and designing optimized data models.

Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Work Ethic: Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.

Good to Have

Certification: Certification in Microsoft Power BI (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) is highly desirable.

Programming: Exposure to other reporting tools or scripting languages (e.g., Python, R).

Cloud: Experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL).
