Role Description This is a full-time, remote PHP Web Developer role. The developer will design, build, and maintain secure, scalable web applications and APIs that support HackHalt’s cyber intelligence and training platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing back-end functionality in PHP, integrating front-end components, optimizing database interactions, and ensuring performance, reliability, and security across web services.

The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions, troubleshooting issues, performing code reviews,



and contributing to documentation and continuous improvement initiatives. As this is an unpaid position, it is well-suited for professionals or students seeking experience, portfolio growth, and impact in the cybersecurity and non-profit domains.

Qualifications

- Strong back-end web development skills, including experience with PHP and relevant frameworks.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and best practices.
- Competence in front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for integrating UI with back-end services.
- Foundational software development skills, including version control (e.g., Git) and debugging.
- General programming skills with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and secure code.
- Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL), RESTful APIs, and web application security concepts.
- Ability to work independently in a remote workplace, manage time effectively, and collaborate using online tools.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail in documentation.
- Interest or background in cybersecurity, AI-driven solutions, or non-profit work is highly beneficial.
- Relevant academic background (Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
