Role Description This is a full time, on-site Ophthalmologist role based in Jamshedpur. The Ophthalmologist will perform outpatient consultations, conduct detailed eye examinations, diagnose ocular conditions, and manage medical and surgical treatment plans. Daily responsibilities include prescribing medications, advising on corrective lenses, performing minor procedures, and assisting or leading ophthalmic surgeries as appropriate.

The role involves using diagnostic equipment, laser technologies, and evidence-based protocols to ensure high standards of care. The Ophthalmologist will also counsel patients and families, collaborate with optometrists and other clinical staff, maintain accurate medical records, and participate in quality improvement and clinical audit activities.

Qualifications





- Strong foundation in clinical Medicine with the ability to diagnose and manage systemic conditions affecting eye health.
- Advanced expertise in Ophthalmology, including comprehensive eye examination, disease management, and ophthalmic procedures.
- Competence in Optometry-related skills such as refraction, prescription of corrective lenses, and basic vision assessment.
- Experience with ophthalmic Laser procedures, including safe operation of laser equipment and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Proficiency in ophthalmic Surgery, including pre-operative assessment, intra-operative care, and post-operative follow-up.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology (MS/MD/DNB or equivalent), with valid medical registration.
- Strong diagnostic judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to patient-centered, ethical care.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, with clear communication and respectful interaction with colleagues and patients.
- Willingness to participate in continuing medical education, adopt new technologies, and follow evidence-based clinical guidelines.
- Prior experience in a hospital or dedicated eye care setting is preferred but not strictly required for highly motivated, well-trained candidates.
