Role: Node.js Developer / Senior Backend Developer

Candidate Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer (Node.js) to join the engineering team at Ascendion. The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience in Node.js, microservices architecture, AWS, message queues (Kafka or SQS), and monitoring tools like Datadog or Splunk. This role requires immediate availability or short notice periods due to the highly expedited 1-round interview loop.

Core Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend services using Node.js.

Build and manage microservices-based, event-driven architectures.

Develop secure, highly available,



and fault-tolerant cloud systems on AWS.

Implement seamless asynchronous data processing using Kafka or AWS SQS.

Integrate end-to-end monitoring, logging, and observability dashboards using Datadog and/or Splunk.

Troubleshoot production issues rapidly and optimize queries for lower latency.

Mandatory Tech Stack (Must have on Resume)

Backend: Node.js, Express.js (Rest APIs)

Architecture: Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture

Cloud Platform: AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc.)

Messaging Queues: Kafka OR AWS SQS

Observability: Datadog OR Splunk
