Job Title: MQ Administrator – Mainframe (Senior/L3)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled MQ Administrator (Mainframe) with deep understanding of IBM MQ on z/OS platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for MQ setup, upgrades, object management, and troubleshooting in a complex Mainframe environment.

Mandatory Skills:

- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in MQ Administration on Mainframe (z/OS).
- Expertise in setting up MQ on new Mainframe LPARs.
- Ability to create, configure, restart, and validate Queue Managers.
- Experience with upgrading MQ versions, applying Fix Packs, and patch validation.
- Robust understanding of MQ Libraries and File structures on Mainframe.
- Experience in applying or renewing TLS certificates and implementing security configurations on MQ channels.
- Ability to troubleshoot MQ platform issues, raise and manage PMRs with IBM.




- Solid skills in MQ backup setup, monitoring, and recovery operations.

Primary Skills:

- Creating, altering, and deleting MQ objects (queues, channels, etc.).
- Implementing and managing security authorizations for application connectivity.
- Coordinating with Mainframe Admin teams for upgrades, patches, certificates, backups, and storage.
- Positive knowledge and hands-on with Queue Sharing Groups (QSG).
- Configure MQ Clusters and set up routing through Gateway Queue Managers.

Secondary Skills:

- Familiarity with disaster recovery procedures related to MQ on Mainframe.
- Experience with MQ monitoring tools and performance tuning.
- Understanding of integration with external systems and routing outside the cluster.
- Exposure to automation/scripting for MQ tasks is a plus.
