We at Magritte are building a privacy-critical infrastructure for building secure apps. Our founders are Silicon Valley veterans with experience building massively scaled-up technologies, notably at Apple, PayPal, Twilio, Qualcomm, and Samsara. We feel passionately about protecting privacy, identity, and safety of everyone, especially for the most vulnerable members of our society.

Converting this passion into purpose, we started Magritte in India. The world's largest democracy is an incredibly challenging market to implement our vision of no-compromise identity protection. Which is why we want to bring in the best engineers and product thinkers on our team.

We are looking at hiring our first Member of Technical Staff. As the first engineer at Magritte, you will be developing sophisticated, well-laid-out software, contributing to what we call "privacy-crtitical infrastructure". We expect you to be a generalist with a taste for highly readable, reliable code and an eye for scalability.

Qualifications

- Academic: Recently completed CS engineering degree (2023 or later)



from premier institutions (IITs, NITs, BITS)
- Entrepreneurial: Has at least one published app on the App Store or a SaaS product in the AWS, GCP, or Azure marketplace
- Scalability: Proven experience in scaling volumes (users, RPS, QPS) in a cloud compute context, and the challenges underlying

Ideal Candidate: a technical co-founder who has built a startup and the product is available for us to try

We are hiring exactly one engineer at the moment. We are based in Powai, Mumbai and upon hiring, we prefer that you reside within 15 minutes of our office. Relocation allowance will be paid. Rest assured, the co-founders are also adhering to this requirement. For the most exceptional candidates, we can work out remote (in India) or hybrid arrangements.

The expected compensation range for this role is 25-35 LPA cash (for onsite in Mumbai) (not CTC; you get what you see). Currently we are not offering equity for this role.
