About the Role

Arkahub is expanding beyond core rooftop MMS structures into current solar-integrated product lines — starting with our Gazebo / Solar Pergola range. We're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who can own a product end-to-end: from first sketch to a customer's roof, and everything in between — structural design, sheet-metal detailing, vendor sourcing, quality checks, and on-site troubleshooting. This is a hands-on, full-lifecycle role for someone who wants to see their design decisions show up in a real installed product, not just a drawing.

Arkahub is a small, energetic team moving at a fast pace — if you want your work to matter from day one and shape a product line from the ground up, this is one of the best places to do it.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Structural Design

- Design solar-integrated outdoor structures (gazebos, pergolas, canopies, patios) with compliant PV mounting systems, balancing structural integrity, waterproofing, and aesthetics
- Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, and structural layouts in SolidWorks (or equivalent), applying DFM/DFA principles from the earliest concept stage
- Apply GD&T; (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure manufacturability and dimensional accuracy across sheet-metal and structural components

Sheet Metal & Custom Part Design

- Design sheet-metal components (enclosures, brackets, structural covers, junction boxes) including flat patterns, bend allowances, and DXF outputs ready for laser cutting and CNC punching
- Design weldments and structural assemblies,

coordinating design intent with fabrication capability (welding, CNC machining, powder coating)

Manufacturing Coordination & Quality

- Prepare production-ready 2D drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation for release to production and vendors
- Conduct first-article inspections and mechanical load testing (e.g., clamp/bracket load validation) to confirm design compliance before scale-up
- Perform QC checks on production and vendor-supplied files/parts to catch deviations before they reach the field

Vendor Support & Procurement

- Engage with fabrication and coating vendors (laser cutting, CNC, powder coating, welding) to align on process capability and cost
- Support vendor qualification, part quality audits, and issue resolution during production ramp-up
- Work with sourcing to evaluate component alternatives for cost optimization without compromising design intent

Field Installation & On-Site Support

- Develop modular, installation-friendly design solutions that reduce on-site assembly time
- Provide technical support to installation teams, resolving field-fit issues and feeding learnings back into design revisions

- Travel to installation or vendor sites as needed to troubleshoot and validate designs in real conditions

Visualization & Presentation Support

- Produce realistic product renders and visualizations to support sales collateral, customer presentations, and internal design reviews

What We're Looking For

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent); 2–5 years of relevant experience
- Solid proficiency in SolidWorks (Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional or equivalent preferred); working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Solid grounding in sheet-metal design (flat patterns, bend allowances, DXF), weldment design, and GD&T;/tolerancing
- Experience with BOM creation and engineering change management (ECO/ECN), ideally with PLM tools (e.g., Arena PLM)
- Exposure to solar/renewable energy structures (racking, mounting systems, outdoor enclosures) is a must
- Comfort working across the full lifecycle — design, vendor floor, and job site — rather than staying purely at a desk
- Ability to produce clean, presentation-ready renders for internal and customer-facing use
- Strong cross-functional communication — this role sits between design, production, sourcing, and field teams daily

Why This Role Matters The Gazebo line is Arkahub's next major product bet, and this hire will shape it from the ground up — not inherit an established process. If you like owning ambiguity, solving problems with your hands as much as your CAD software, and seeing a product go from sketch to someone's rooftop, this is built for you.
