Role Description The MBBS Doctor (108 MEMS) will provide pre-hospital emergency medical care and clinical decision-making for patients transported via the 108 Medical Emergency Management System. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing patients at the scene, stabilizing and managing critical cases, performing necessary medical procedures, documenting clinical findings, and coordinating with emergency medical technicians and control room staff. The doctor will follow established clinical protocols, ensure accurate communication with receiving hospitals, and participate in quality and safety initiatives.
This is a full-time, in office role based in the Pune Division,
requiring regular shifts and availability for emergency response.
Qualifications
- Recognized MBBS degree from an accredited institution and valid registration with the appropriate Medical Council.
- Clinical skills in emergency medicine and acute care, including patient assessment, stabilization, and basic life support/advanced life support.
- Ability to work effectively in pre-hospital settings, including ambulances and emergency response environments, following established medical protocols.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, emergency medical staff, and hospital teams, with clear documentation of clinical encounters.
- Capacity to remain calm under pressure, make timely clinical decisions, and prioritize multiple emergencies in fast-paced conditions.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by emergency services operations.
- Commitment to patient safety, ethical medical practice, and continuous learning in emergency and critical care medicine.
- Prior experience in emergency medicine, ambulance services, or critical care is an advantage.
- Basic proficiency with digital health records and communication systems used in emergency medical services is beneficial.
