Role Description The Design and Drafting Engineer role at AltEdge is a full-time, in office position based in Bengaluru South. The person in this role will create and modify detailed engineering drawings and 3D models for precision metal components, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications and industry standards. Daily tasks include interpreting design requirements, preparing manufacturing drawings, updating documentation based on engineering changes, and collaborating with production and quality teams to resolve design-related issues.



The engineer will also support design reviews, optimize component designs for manufacturability and cost, maintain drawing and model archives, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines. This role involves close coordination with stakeholders to meet project timelines and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in design and drafting processes.
Qualifications
Proficiency in mechanical design and drafting using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and ability to produce clear, accurate engineering drawings.
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;), and standards related to precision metal components.
Experience working with manufacturing processes such as machining, metal forming, and fabrication, with the ability to design for manufacturability and assembly.
