Position Overview

Senior Unix & Linux Infrastructure Administrator:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Unix & Linux Infrastructure Administrator with 12+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise server administration, infrastructure operations, virtualization, storage, automation, patching, and production support.

The candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting large-scale Linux and Unix server environments, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and operational stability. The role requires robust troubleshooting skills, ownership of critical infrastructure, and the ability to lead complex technical activities and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer and support enterprise Linux and Unix environments across production and non-production infrastructure.
- Perform installation, configuration, hardening, patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of Linux/Unix servers.
- Provide advanced administration for Oracle Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS and Solaris environments.
- Troubleshoot complex OS, kernel, filesystem, networking, performance, boot, package, and service-related issues.
- Manage server provisioning, decommissioning, migration, and infrastructure consolidation activities.
- Perform OS upgrades, kernel upgrades, security remediation, vulnerability remediation, and configuration management.
- Manage LVM, XFS, ext4, ZFS, NFS, iSCSI, SAN, multipath, and enterprise storage environments.
- Troubleshoot storage connectivity,



multipathing, filesystem, NFS, and SAN-related issues.
- Manage and troubleshoot DNS, NTP/Chrony, SSH, FTP/SFTP, NFS, TCP/IP, VLAN, routing, firewall, and other core infrastructure services.
- Administer and troubleshoot virtualization environments such as Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM), oVirt, VMware, or equivalent platforms.
- Support VM creation, migration, resource allocation, host maintenance, and virtualization infrastructure operations.
- Develop and maintain automation using Ansible and shell scripting.
- Automate repetitive administration, patching, health checks, configuration validation, and operational activities.
- Work with monitoring, logging, backup, vulnerability management, and enterprise infrastructure tools.
- Analyze system performance and capacity, including CPU, memory, disk, I/O, filesystem, and network utilization.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge-base articles.
- Participate in infrastructure migrations, data-center migrations, technology refreshes, and large-scale server consolidation projects.
- Coordinate with application, database, storage, network, security, virtualization, and vendor teams to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
- Implement security best practices and ensure servers comply with enterprise security and vulnerability standards.
- Perform change implementation in accordance with ITIL/change-management processes.
- Participate in on-call and after-hours support for critical production infrastructure when required.
