Aligned With: Head Manufacturing Engineering Process

Team Name: Manufacturing Engineering - Assembly

About the Team and the Role:

You’ll be leading the Manufacturing Engineering Process team for Vehicle Assembly, driving execution across all recent product introductions (NPIs). In this role, you will act as the primary bridge between cross-functional teams and external suppliers, managing everything from digital process planning and optimization to physical builds and line deployments. You will own project delivery, lead a direct team of engineers, and continuously drive NPDs, process efficiency, quality, and cost-reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities:

NPI & Process Engineering:

- Ensure all new product introductions (NPIs) are launched on time with a collaborative approach.
- Manage virtual and physical builds to validate processes prior to going live, identifying and resolving potential issues early in the development cycle.
- Convert Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOM) into Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOM) to ensure a seamless transition from design to production.
- Identify necessary equipment, tooling, and material handling facilities for manual assembly processes to ensure a smooth workflow.

Digital Manufacturing & Process Optimization:
- Utilize Siemens Teamcenter Visualization (Vismockup) to create graphical Sequences of Events (SoE) for manufacturing process visualization and optimization.
- Apply Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Actively lead the creation of key documentation, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Control Plans.
- Implement Poka-Yoke (error-proofing)

mechanisms to eliminate operator errors and raise quality standards.

Project Management & Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Serve as the primary link between the ME team and cross-functional teams (CFTs) to NPs, CRs and Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives.
- Facilitate project reviews with internal teams for new programs in collaboration with team members.
- Maintain a comprehensive issue log, tracking all technical and process challenges from identification to final closure.
- Manage the Change Request (CR) process, evaluating impact and executing changes while maintaining compliance and quality standards.

Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement:
- Lead and manage a team of 3-5 engineers, owning overall project execution and delivery.
- Continuously identify, drive, and implement process improvement projects to boost efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Transfer knowledge across relevant stakeholders to ensure clear awareness of technical decisions and alignment.
- Ensure all manufacturing processes, equipment, and layouts adhere to relevant safety standards and legal regulations.

Experience and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any discipline).
- 12 to 16 years of relevant working experience in Vehicle Assembly processes.
- Proven experience in project management and leading small engineering teams.
- Prior experience in the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry is highly advantageous.

Must-Have Competencies & Skillsets:

Domain Skills

- Strong expertise in New Product Development (NPD/NPI) and Vehicle Assembly processes.
- Deep hands-on experience working with multi-disciplinary Cross-Functional Teams (CFTs).
- Proven capability to build stakeholder relationships, identify potential project risks, and formulate mitigation plans.
- Strong background in project management methodologies and process execution.
- Proficiency in Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).

Tools & Systems:
- Methodologies: APQP framework and structured problem-solving tools.
- Digital Manufacturing: Vismockup (Virtual Manufacturing) & MPP Planner (Digital Work Instructions).
- CAD/PLM: Siemens NX & Siemens Teamcenter Visualization.
