About The Role The Account Manager role at P&G; is a strategic position focused on driving sales growth and strengthening customer relationships within the Indian market, specifically in Mumbai GO - PGHL and Kolkata. This role involves managing a portfolio of products, engaging with key accounts, and executing sales strategies to meet and exceed business objectives. As the primary point of contact for third-party business partners, the Account Manager ensures seamless collaboration, adherence to contractual agreements, and the achievement of sales targets.
This position offers a unique opportunity to lead initiatives, influence market strategies, and develop a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and market dynamics. The role reports directly to the Chief Customer Engagement Officer (CCEO) and plays a critical role in representing P&G;’s interests with third-party partners, ensuring alignment with company goals and standards.
Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a minimum educational qualification of BSc, BCom,
or an MBA, with a solid foundation in data analysis and presentation skills, particularly in creating impactful PowerPoint presentations. Prior experience in sales, account management, or related roles within consumer goods or retail sectors is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to analyze market data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
A proactive attitude, problem-solving capabilities, and a customer-centric mindset are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic business plans in collaboration with third-party partners to drive sales growth and market penetration.
- Conduct regular store visits and market assessments to monitor product placement, promotional activities, and compliance with branding standards.
- Engage with store managers and sales teams to ensure the effective execution of promotional schemes, asset placements, and merchandising standards.
- Oversee the collection of retail data, including sales figures, stock levels, and customer feedback, to inform decision-making processes.
- Manage and guide third-party sales supervisors and sellers, providing coaching and support to optimize their performance.
- Ensure adherence to contractual obligations, monitor sales performance, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Drive the achievement of monthly sell-in and sell-out targets through strategic planning and execution.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely implementation of marketing campaigns, new product launches,
and promotional activities.
- Build strong relationships with key accounts, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to foster loyalty and growth.
- Track and report on key performance metrics, including market coverage, sales volume, and compliance standards, to senior management.
- Support capability building initiatives for sales teams and partners, including training sessions and joint business planning.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to inform strategic decisions.
