Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled iOS Engineer to join TechGrit's mobile engineering team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in native iOS development and is equally comfortable working across Android and Flutter codebases. This role covers the mobile side of a client's test-automation platform — the device agents, the automation libraries injected into the applications under test, and the associated Flutter plugins.
Key Responsibilities
Mobile Development & Platform Compatibility
- Develop new functionality and fix issues in mobile automation libraries across iOS, Android, and Flutter.
- Keep the mobile stack compatible with recent iOS, Android, Xcode, and Flutter releases.
- Contribute to mobile R&D; initiatives such as WebDriverAgent-based automation and SwiftUI/Flutter support.
Troubleshooting & Release Management
- Troubleshoot customer-escalated mobile issues, including crashes after instrumentation, element identification failures, and replay failures.
- Own mobile release logistics: certificates, provisioning profiles, entitlements, keystores, customer-specific builds, IPA/APK re-signing, and artifact publishing.
- Maintain internal documentation covering mobile internals, build processes, and signing processes.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Expertise in iOS development with Objective-C (including non-ARC code) and Swift.
- Minimum of 5 years of mobile development experience, with a primary focus on iOS.
- Deep understanding of UIKit and the Objective-C runtime — swizzling, private APIs, synthesized events, and accessibility.
- Strong knowledge of Apple code signing: certificates, provisioning profiles, entitlements, and IPA export/re-signing.
- Experience building static/dynamic libraries and XCFrameworks with xcodebuild and shell scripts.
- Ability to read, debug, and modify Android (Java/Kotlin, Gradle) and Flutter/Dart code.
- Strong debugging skills across device logs, crash reports and symbolication, adb, and logcat.
- Experience with mobile networking (TCP/UDP sockets, RPC, WebSockets) and Bash scripting.
- Proficient with Git and standard issue-tracking/CI tooling (e.g., Azure DevOps, JIRA).
- Excellent written and spoken English.
Good to Have
- Knowledge of Android internals: Instrumentation, accessibility services, reflection into hidden APIs, Jetpack Compose.
- Experience with APK repackaging: apktool, smali/dex, apksigner, keystores.
- Experience developing and publishing Flutter plugins (pub.dev) and CocoaPods podspecs.
- Knowledge of XCUITest, WebDriverAgent, or Appium.
- Knowledge of WebKit/WKWebView, Safari web extensions, and JavaScript.
- Basic understanding of .NET/C# and NuGet packaging.
- Genuine enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
