About The intern will support the assembly, integration, and validation of Red Balloon's near-space vehicle systems including balloons, aerostats, and airships. This role involves hands-on participation in mechanical, electrical, and avionics integration.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Integration

‚Ģ Assist in assembly of balloon envelopes, gondolas, and payload structures

‚Ģ Support integration of winch systems, tether mechanisms, and ground equipment

‚Ģ Work on material handling, cutting, sewing, and sealing of envelope fabrics

‚Ģ Perform fit-checks, tolerance analysis, and design validation

Electrical & Avionics Integration

‚Ģ Support wiring harness routing and connector integration

‚Ģ Assist in mounting sensors, antennas, and electronic enclosures

‚Ģ Perform continuity checks, insulation tests, and power-up sequences

Testing & Validation





‚Ģ Support ground testing, tethered tests, and flight tests

‚Ģ Document integration procedures, issues, and resolutions

‚Ģ Maintain configuration management and as-built documentation

Requirements

‚Ģ Pursuing or completed B.Tech/M.Tech in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related field

‚Ģ Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly and fabrication

‚Ģ Basic understanding of electrical systems and wiring

‚Ģ Familiarity with CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar) preferred

‚Ģ Ability to read technical drawings and assembly instructions

‚Ģ Physical ability to work with large structures and equipment

‚Ģ Detail-oriented with robust documentation skills
