Role Description The Interior Design Faculty role is a full-time, on-site position based at JD Institute of Fashion Technology in Siliguri. The faculty member will deliver structured classroom instruction in interior design concepts, materials, space planning, and design software, while aligning with the institute’s curriculum and academic standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching theoretical and practical modules, supervising studio work, guiding students through projects, and providing constructive feedback on assignments and portfolios.

The role also involves mentoring students on career pathways, collaborating with colleagues on academic initiatives, participating in curriculum enhancement,



and supporting workshops, exhibitions, and industry interactions. The faculty member is expected to maintain an engaging, inclusive learning environment and stay current with interior design trends and professional practices.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong interior design knowledge, including space planning, materials, finishes, color theory, and design principles.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in relevant design tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar 2D/3D visualization tools).
- Candidates should possess effective teaching, mentoring, and classroom management skills, with the ability to engage and support diverse learners.
- Candidates should possess clear communication and presentation skills, along with strong skills in critique, feedback, and academic documentation.
- Candidates should possess curriculum planning and lesson design skills, including the ability to integrate practical projects, industry trends, and portfolio development.
- Candidates should possess team-oriented and professional skills, including teamwork with faculty, participation in academic events, and liaison with industry professionals.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Prior teaching experience in interior design or significant professional experience in interior design practice will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Siliguri and commit to a full-time academic schedule.
