Nexcess, a Liquid Web brand, is bringing a Nutanix-powered managed private cloud platform to market, with both multi-tenant and dedicated private cloud environments. We're looking for a hands-on Nutanix expert to own technical execution across the platform: building, configuring, and hardening clusters through launch and early customer growth. You'll work directly with our infrastructure, systems engineering, networking, security, and automation teams, with real ownership and short decision loops.

The engagement is contract to start, with contract-to-hire potential for the right person.

What you'll do

- Deploy and configure Nutanix clusters (AOS, AHV) across management, staging, and production environments using Foundation
- Deploy and configure Prism Central for dedicated and multi-tenant control planes, including tenant isolation, categories and RBAC, and tenant scale limits
- Implement Flow Virtual Networking: VPC design, security policies, and microsegmentation for tenant separation
- Configure and validate firewall posture for dedicated and multi-tenant environments, spanning open-source and next-generation firewall platforms
- Stand up platform alerting and monitoring across all clusters, with runbooks for the operations team
- Run performance validation and benchmarking with Nutanix X-Ray to establish platform baselines
- Support workload migrations from VMware and NetApp three-tier environments onto Nutanix, including assessment and cutover with Nutanix Move
- Coordinate with data center operations on rack, cabling,



top-of-rack configuration, and network bring-up
- Troubleshoot across compute, storage, and networking layers during launch and early tenant onboarding
- Document configurations and transfer knowledge to internal engineering and operations teams

What we're looking for

- 5+ years in virtualization or infrastructure engineering, with deep hands-on Nutanix experience: AOS, AHV, Prism Central, Foundation
- Experience with Flow Virtual Networking, VPC design, and microsegmentation in production environments
- Solid networking fundamentals: VLANs, routing, top-of-rack switching, firewall configuration
- Working knowledge of NetApp ONTAP storage: volume and LUN provisioning, NFS and iSCSI datastores, and migrating data off three-tier environments
- Comfort operating independently in a fast-moving launch environment with hard deadlines
- Clear communication across engineering, product, and operations stakeholders

Nice to have

- Prior work at Nutanix or a Nutanix partner (professional services or System Engineer background)
- Nutanix certifications (NCP or NCM level)
- Service provider or hosting experience: multi-tenant isolation, oversubscription, capacity planning
- VMware background and VMware-to-Nutanix migration experience (Move)
- Backup and DR tooling integration, and automation against Prism APIs (Ansible, Terraform, or scripting)
