About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer(4-8) to join their growing India-based Data Engineering pod, working closely with the UK Data team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in building scalable data platforms, improving engineering reliability, implementing CI/CD best practices, and enabling advanced analytics and AI/ML initiatives. This role requires strong technical expertise, ownership mindset, and the ability to mentor junior engineers within a collaborative international environment.
Key Responsibilities
Build, optimize, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL data pipelines
Work extensively with Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and Python
Implement CI/CD best practices for modern data engineering workflows
Improve monitoring, alerting, reliability, and data quality processes
Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, BI teams, and stakeholders
Support data modelling and data architecture initiatives
Mentor and guide junior engineers within the India pod
Contribute towards MLOps foundations and production deployment workflows




Work in close coordination with UK-based engineering teams
Required Skills
5+ years of experience in Data Engineering
Strong expertise in SQL and Python
Hands-on experience with Snowflake
Robust working experience with dbt
Experience building production-grade data pipelines
Good understanding of data modelling concepts (3NF, Kimball, etc.)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience working with cloud-based modern data platforms
Ability to work independently with strong ownership mindset
Nice-to-Have Skills
Exposure to MLOps concepts and workflows
Experience with orchestration tools
Experience supporting BI/Analytics teams
Experience working in Agile/product-based environments
Previous mentoring or technical leadership experience
