Role Description The Hostel Warden (Residential – University) is a full-time, on-site role based in Dehradun, responsible for the overall administration, safety, and discipline of the university hostel. The warden oversees day-to-day hostel operations, including room allocation, maintenance coordination, and adherence to hostel rules and policies. This role involves monitoring resident behavior, addressing grievances, supporting student well-being, and organizing orientations or briefings on hostel guidelines.

The warden ensures compliance with health, safety, and security protocols, coordinates with university administration and facility teams,



and maintains accurate records related to occupancy, incidents, and inspections. The position requires regular interaction with students, staff, and parents or guardians, as well as readiness to handle emergencies and after-hours situations in a calm and professional manner.

Qualifications

- Strong administrative and organizational skills, including experience in facility management, record-keeping, and coordination of maintenance activities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents or guardians.
- Proficiency in enforcing rules and regulations, maintaining discipline, and managing sensitive situations with fairness and integrity.
- Knowledge of basic health, safety, and security practices within residential or hostel environments, including emergency response procedures.
- Ability to work in a residential setting with flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties when required.
- Prior experience in hostel management, student affairs, residential life, or a similar supervisory role in an educational institution is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; a background in education, social work, hospitality, or administration is an advantage.
- Comfort with basic digital tools and reporting systems for documentation, communication, and coordination with university and company stakeholders.
