About The Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Frontend Engineer to join our agile team at Delivery Hero India. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development of high-traffic, consumer-facing web applications that serve millions of users daily. You will play a pivotal role in architecting scalable, effective, and visually appealing frontend systems, ensuring optimal performance across various devices and browsers.

Additionally, you will mentor junior developers, foster best practices in frontend development, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including backend engineers, product managers, and designers.

The ideal candidate is an expert in Next.js and React, with a deep understanding of building robust, responsive, and high-performance web applications. You should possess a strong product mindset, focusing on delivering seamless user experiences while maintaining code quality and scalability. Your expertise will help shape the future of our consumer applications, ensuring they are fast, reliable, and engaging for a global user base.

Qualifications The candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in front-end development, with a proven track record of building large-scale consumer applications. Proficiency in modern web technologies such as React (including Hooks, Context API, and functional components), HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+) is essential.

Experience working with web services technologies like REST,



GraphQL, and handling JSON data is required. A solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and test-driven development practices is necessary to ensure maintainable and high-quality code.

Deep expertise in React and Next.js, with at least 5+ years of experience specifically leveraging these frameworks for production applications, is highly preferred. Familiarity with state management solutions such as Redux and Redux Toolkit (RTK) is crucial. Knowledge of backend technologies like Node.js and experience querying and structuring data within MySQL databases will be advantageous.

The candidate should also be familiar with modern CSS methodologies, including Tailwind, Styled Components, or SASS, to craft visually compelling interfaces.

Additional qualifications include experience with tooling such as Git, Webpack or Vite, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks like Jest, Cypress, or React Testing Library. Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken, are necessary to collaborate effectively with international teams.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of complex, responsive features for consumer-facing web applications using Next.js and React.js, ensuring high performance and scalability. Architect efficient state management patterns utilizing Redux and RTK to handle complex application data flows seamlessly. Implement best practices for performance optimization, including server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and advanced caching strategies to improve Core Web Vitals scores.

Collaborate closely with backend teams to design and consume RESTful APIs, ensuring efficient data fetching, error handling, and smooth integration between frontend and backend systems.



Utilize Node.js for middle-tier logic when necessary and interface with MySQL databases to support application features. Maintain high standards of code quality through rigorous code reviews, unit testing, and comprehensive documentation.

Mentor junior developers, share knowledge, and promote best practices in frontend development. Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve the application's performance, scalability, and user experience. Contribute to the overall product strategy by providing technical insights and innovative solutions that align with business goals.
