Lucidity is a company that provides an automated NoOps disk auto-scaler for cloud storage across AWS, Azure, and GCP. It addresses over-provisioned block storage by dynamically scaling capacity, increasing disk utilization to around 80% from 25–35%. This results in cost reductions of up to 70% for businesses. Here's a video of what Lucidity does.
Key benefits include
- Significant cost savings on storage (especially EBS costs)
- Elimination of downtime by preventing disk space issues
- Reduced DevOps effort through automation
- Application-agnostic solution that works with various systems

About the Role
We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer — a hands-on,
code-first engineer who gets embedded directly inside customer environments to make Lucidity work exactly the way that customer's infrastructure needs it to. This is a builder's role, not a slide-deck role: you'll spend your time writing scripts, building integrations, automating deployment workflows, and increasingly, applying AI/LLM-based tooling to accelerate diagnostics, onboarding, and support for our largest customers.
Going deep into a customer's stack, writing the automation and tooling that gets Lucidity live fast, and building the internal accelerators (including AI-assisted ones) that make every future deployment faster than the last.
- Get embedded directly with customer engineering teams (virtually or on-site) to design, build, and ship the automation, scripts, and integrations needed to deploy and operationalize Lucidity in their environment.
- Write production-quality code (Python, Go, or similar) and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation) to solve customer-specific technical gaps — custom connectors, deployment automation, monitoring hooks, and edge-case handling that a standard playbook doesn't cover.
- Actively build and apply AI-driven tooling to the deployment lifecycle — e.g., using LLMs/agents to accelerate log triage, auto-generate deployment diagnostics, build internal copilots for common support/debugging patterns, or speed up customer onboarding workflows.
- Debug deep technical issues across cloud infrastructure, OS-level storage behavior, and networking — going as deep into the stack as required to unblock a customer, including reading and modifying code when needed.
- Partner tightly with Product and Engineering as the field's technical feedback loop — flagging gaps, prototyping fixes, and turning repeat customer requests into reusable tooling or product features.
- Support technical discovery and solution design conversations alongside Solutions Architects, bringing implementation-level realism to architecture decisions.
- Continuously look for ways to use AI/automation to reduce manual effort in deployment, diagnostics, and support — treating internal tooling as a product in its own right.
- Document technical patterns, runbooks, and automation so that solutions you build for one customer can be reused across the team.
- Travel to customer sites as necessary for critical technical implementation work.
Must Haves
- 4+ years of hands-on experience as a software/DevOps/platform engineer building and shipping production code — this is a technical builder role first.
- Strong programming and scripting ability (Python, Go, or similar) with real experience writing and maintaining production-grade code, not just configuration.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure, including IaC tooling (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar) and cloud networking/security fundamentals.
- Practical exposure to AI/LLM-based tooling — prompt engineering, building agents/copilots, using AI coding assistants, or shipping AI-powered internal tools — and genuine enthusiasm for applying AI to make technical delivery faster.
- Comfort working directly inside a customer's technical environment, including debugging at the code/OS level under time pressure.
- Working experience across Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Strong problem-solving instincts — able to go from "this is broken" to a working fix without needing the problem pre-defined.
- Good communication skills — able to explain technical trade-offs clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment with shifting priorities.
- Public cloud certifications are a plus, not a requirement.
- Prior experience in the storage domain is a strong plus.
What Do We Promise?
- A high-growth work environment
- Autonomy to decide & deliver on KPIs
- Hybrid / work-from-home options | Flexible hours | Unlimited leaves
- Attractive ESOPs — potential to see 100x in the next 5 years
