About the role

As an Associate – FP&A;, you'll own the monthly financial reporting cycle for a portfolio of clients. This means preparing MIS, closing books, building analysis that explains what the numbers actually mean, and presenting it to founders and CFOs.

This is a core role in our Fractional CFO practice. You won't be one of twenty people on a reporting team — you'll own your clients' numbers.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare monthly MIS packs and management reporting for a portfolio of clients
- Support month-end and period-end close — accruals, provisions, schedules and reconciliations
- Prepare financial statements and reporting schedules in line with applicable standards
- Build and maintain budgets, forecasts and rolling projections
- Conduct variance analysis — budget versus actual, month on month, and explain the drivers
- Track and report on KPIs, unit economics and business metrics relevant to each client
- Prepare cash flow statements, working capital analysis and cash flow forecasts
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting formats that clients actually use




- Coordinate with client finance and accounting teams to gather data and resolve queries
- Support statutory audits, due diligence requests and investor reporting as required
- Contribute to improving reporting templates, processes and turnaround times

What we're looking for

Essential

- CA (Inter) / CA semi-qualified or CMA (Inter) / CMA semi-qualified
- 1–3 years of experience in accounting, MIS, financial reporting or FP&A; — articleship experience counts
- Robust grasp of accounting fundamentals and financial statement preparation
- Advanced Excel — comfortable with lookups, pivots, and building a report from raw data
- Working knowledge of Ind AS / applicable accounting standards
- Attention to detail, and the discipline to hit reporting deadlines every month without being chased
- Clear written communication — you'll be sending reports directly to clients

Preferred

- Experience with Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks or similar accounting systems
- Exposure to ERP systems or BI/dashboarding tools (Power BI, Zoho Analytics)
- Experience handling multiple clients or entities simultaneously
- Exposure to startups or promoter-led businesses
