Role Description The Field Research Assistant role is a full-time, in office position located in Patna.

The assistant will support legal work by conducting field research, collecting data from relevant institutions, and gathering information from public records and stakeholders. Daily tasks include visiting locations for fact-finding, documenting observations, organizing and verifying collected data, and preparing concise summaries for legal review.

The role also involves coordinating with clients and local contacts, maintaining clear communication with the supervising legal professional, and ensuring that all field activities comply with legal and ethical standards.

The assistant will contribute to case preparation by providing accurate,



timely, and well-structured research inputs.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Field Research and Field Work skills, including comfort with on-site visits and direct information gathering.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to interact with clients, witnesses, and institutional staff in a clear and professional manner.
- Candidates should possess solid Data Collection skills, with the ability to document, organize, and maintain accurate records.
- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret collected information, identify relevant facts, and support case preparation.
- Ability to work independently in the field, manage time efficiently, and follow instructions with attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of legal processes or interest in the legal field; prior experience in legal or social research is an advantage.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Hindi; familiarity with local Patna context is beneficial.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in law, social sciences, criminology, public administration, or a related field is preferred.
