- Job PurposeThe Electrical AutoCAD Draftsman will be responsible for preparing, modifying, and maintaining accurate electrical drawings and layouts for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. The role requires close coordination with Electrical Engineers, Architects, MEP Consultants, and Site/Project teams to ensure drawings are technically accurate and aligned with project requirements.
- Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed Electrical AutoCAD drawings for building and infrastructure projects.
- Develop electrical layouts including:
- Lighting layouts
- Power layouts
- DB/SMDB/MDB layouts
- Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
- Cable routing and cable tray layouts
- Earthing layouts
- Electrical shaft layouts
- Load distribution drawings
- Fire alarm layouts
- ELV layouts
- DG and transformer layouts
- External electrical layouts
- Prepare drawings based on engineering designs, specifications, BOQs and site requirements.
- Modify drawings according to comments received from Engineers, Consultants, Architects and Project Managers.
- Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site installations.
- Maintain proper drawing numbering, revisions and document control.
- Ensure drawings are prepared according to approved design standards and project specifications.
- Coordinate with Civil, Architectural, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting and other MEP teams to avoid clashes.
- Incorporate site changes and maintain updated drawing records.
- Assist Engineers in preparing electrical BOQ-related drawings and quantity take-offs where required.
- Review drawings for dimensions, symbols, annotations, legends and technical accuracy before submission.
- Prepare shop drawings and construction drawings for execution at site.




- Coordinate with site engineers to resolve drawing-related technical issues.
- Maintain soft copies and hard copies of approved drawings.
- Ensure all drawings are submitted within the required project timelines.
- Support preparation of drawings required for consultant/client approvals.

3. Required Technical SkillsMandatory:

- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
- Good understanding of electrical building services.
- Knowledge of electrical symbols, wiring systems and drafting standards.
- Ability to read and understand electrical design drawings.
- Knowledge of SLD, lighting, power and DB layouts.
- Understanding of electrical services in residential/commercial buildings.
- Knowledge of drawing revision and documentation procedures.
- Basic understanding of electrical BOQ and specifications.

Good to Have:

- Knowledge of Revit MEP / BIM.
- Knowledge of Navisworks and MEP coordination.
- Basic knowledge of Excel.
- Understanding of electrical codes and standards such as IS, NBC and IEC.
- Exposure to residential township, high-rise or commercial projects.

5. Educational QualificationDiploma / ITI / Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Drafting or related technical field.



Candidates with relevant practical drafting experience may also be considered.

- Experience2–3 years of relevant experience in Electrical AutoCAD Drafting.

Preference will be given to candidates who have worked with real estate developers, construction companies, MEP consultants or electrical contractors.

- Preferred Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate should have 2–3 years of hands-on experience in Electrical AutoCAD drafting, preferably within a construction or real estate environment. The candidate should be capable of independently preparing electrical layouts and modifying drawings based on engineering inputs and site requirements.
