E commerce Merchandising Manager (US shift)Location: India (Remote)

Employment Status: Full-time, Dedicated Account Resource

Schedule: US Shift (aligned with US business hours, with weekly availability for collaborative meetings during IST business hours)

Compensation: INR 20–25 LPA (commensurate with experience)

Reports to: Delivery Lead / Account Director The accountIn this role, you will perform as a dedicated resource to take ownership of site merchandising for a premier US-headquartered manufacturer of industrial machinery and metal fabrication equipment. Supporting three direct-to-consumer brand storefronts with deep technical catalogs and an active spare parts ecosystem, you’ll help guide buyers through thoughtful, well-structured digital customer journeys.

You will serve as the core owner for the full merchandising lifecycle across these sites; partnering on launches, day-to-day trading, and search discoverability. Working alongside marketing leaders who set strategic direction and platform goals, you will have the trust and autonomy to lead execution and bring the merchandising vision to life.

What you will ownNew product launches

- Lead end-to-end launch with marketing/tech partner: page creation, copy/messaging, asset placement, cross-sell setup, category placement, and go-live QA
- Ensure every SKU is complete, accurate, and ready on launch day

Day-to-day site merchandising
- Curate PLP placement, sorting rules, promotional slots, banners, and visual badges
- Develop intuitive cross-sell, upsell, and related-product logic to guide customers
- Refine in office search through custom synonyms, redirects, zero-result tuning, and ranking rules
- Maintain a high presentation standard across all assigned brand storefronts

Parts, accessories and consumables (PAC)
- Build fitment content and attachment mapping to ensure customers find exact parts effortlessly
- Enhance discoverability for the aftermarket catalog, reorder pathways, and post-purchase touchpoints
- Champion a core 2027 strategic growth initiative for the business

Content quality





- Uphold clear standards across product titles, descriptions, imagery, technical specifications, comparison tables, and user documentation
- Collaborate closely with product management and brand marketing teams to enrich content

SEO and AI visibility (AEO)

Coordinate with SEO agency for:

- Optimizing on-page and structural SEO including metadata, headings, internal links, canonical tags, and schema markup
- Format content to surface effectively across both modern AI answer engines and traditional search engines (e.g., FAQ blocks, comparisons, clear specifications)
- Track search crawlability and indexation to identify and unlock new visibility opportunities

Conversion and site experience

You will champion the merchandising drivers of conversion. While technical partners manage the platform architecture and checkout build, you provide the commercial lens on site performance, executing the catalog and content refinements that turn visitors into buyers.
- Optimize PDP layouts for maximum clarity on high-intent SKUs, including technical specifications, comparison tables, imagery, and supporting documentation
- Design faceted navigation and filtering logic that aligns precisely with how technical buyers discover products
- Tuning on-site search to eliminate zero-result pages and reduce post-search exits
- Strategically place cross-sell and accessory options to increase attach rates at critical decision points
- Identify and resolve friction within the quote-request and checkout flows by drafting requirements for technical release
- Develop data-backed hypotheses for A/B testing or pre/post-launch performance measurement to validate merchandising changes

Project and partner delivery





- Lead web initiatives smoothly from requirements gathering through user testing and deployment
- Serve as the merchandising lead on new site launches and migrations, coordinating comfortably with technical teams and external partners

Reporting

- Provide monthly KPI reviews accompanied by actionable recommendations and future growth steps
- Proactively share insights and trends to help continuous optimization

Requirements:
- 4 to 8 years of experience managing ecommerce merchandising, catalogs, or product content for an active digital store (brand or agency experience welcomed)
- Solid administrative experience with Adobe Commerce / Magento (experience with Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, or Salesforce B2B Commerce is also appreciated)
- Demonstrated experience managing PLP/PDP layouts, faceted navigation, and taxonomy for extensive catalogs (5,000+ SKUs)
- Familiarity with tuning search tools such as Adobe Live Search, Algolia, Klevu, or Elasticsearch
- Practical knowledge of technical SEO tools (e.g., Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, or Semrush) and schema implementation
- Comfort with GA4 and Looker Studio to track performance and create meaningful reports independently
- Efficiency with bulk catalog updates, CSV management, and high-volume data handling with precision
- Strong written English communication skills suited for a US customer base
- A collaborative mindset for drafting requirements, organizing testing, and coordinating release schedules with developers

Preferred:
- Experience with spare parts, accessories, aftermarket catalogs, or fitment compatibility frameworks
- A background in industrial equipment, machinery, tools, or technical B2B catalogs
- Hands-on practice with PIM solutions (e.g., Akeneo, Salsify, inRiver)
- Exposure to multi-brand or multi-store architecture
- Early work in structuring content for AI search optimization and LLM answer engines
- Familiarity with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization (CRO) methodologies
