Data Migration Specialist

Responsibilities

- Developing a comprehensive data migration strategy, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. ETL Platform (Alteryx One Platform) or Deep expertise in Informatica or Azure Data Factory would also be acceptable.

- Overseeing the mapping and migration of data from legacy systems to the recent ERP platform

- Ensuring data integrity and quality throughout the migration process

- Collaborating with stakeholders to define data migration requirements and timelines

- Ensuring robust documentation of migration processes, including data mappings, transformation rules, and validation procedures

Tasks
- Prepare and lead workshops on data migration topics, sending out meeting minutes and following up on actions

- Perform test migrations and production migrations, following the agreed data migration strategy

- Conducting data validation and reconciliation post-migrations to ensure accuracy and completeness

- Coordinating with functional and technical teams to address any data-related issues during migration

- Monitoring and reporting on the progress of data migration activities to project stakeholders

- Working in the project tool, keeping activities and deliverables updated and following up on interdependencies

Personal Qualifications




- D365/ERP system and module knowledge

- Database/SQL understanding

- Data migration tool experience

- Data import/export validation and management

- Excellent communicator, capable of cooperation inside and outside of the team

- Microsoft Azure concepts

- Microsoft DevOps experience

- ETL Platform (Alteryx One Platform) or Deep expertise in Informatica or Azure Data Factory would also be acceptable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE DIFFERENT PHASES OF THE PROJECT

Preparation

N/A

Prestudy

- Read through documentation from site

- Participate in Pre-study workshops

- Map systems and data migration requirements

- Perform the first test data migrations, MOCK1 and 2

- Assist project in completing the Solution blueprint

Reallization
- Continue performing test migrations, MOCK3

- Refine the requirements and ETL solution

- Follow up on exceptions and reconciliations gaps with business stakeholders

- Factor migration aspects into the overall project cut-over planning

Closure
- Advise on any migration exceptions

- Hand over open issues to hypercare support team and LSM

- Give input to project lessons learned

- Refine the OneERP migration approach based on project learning
