Role Overview/Job Responsibilities

Job Summary

Conceptualize, design, code, debug, and perform development activities in accordance with designated standards and procedures to meet specific project requirements. Share technical expertise and provide training and guidance to other team members.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Use current programming languages and technologies to provide creative, thorough, and practical solutions to a wide range of technical problems.
- Share technical expertise within the department and with other departments as required.
- Analyze and contribute to system and subsystem requirements specifications and design definitions.
- Design, develop, and test applications and programs to support the company's products.
- Follow established quality standards and internal engineering procedures including coding, unit testing, peer reviews, and software configuration control.




- Prepare high- and low-level software design specifications, storyboards, and interface specifications.
- Support products from conception through delivery, including problem resolution, defect maintenance, and customer support (may require out-of-hours support).
- Prepare reports, manuals, procedures, and status updates.
- Provide training and technical guidance to team members.
- Support bids, proposals, and customer change/variation requests.
- Stay updated with advancements in software engineering and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Comply with company values, code of conduct, quality, security, health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the manager from time to time.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education & Qualifications

Essential

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Desirable:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
- Relevant programming language or framework certification.

Technical Skills & Experience

C++ / Embedded Development (Mandatory)

- 6+ years of C++ experience (C++11 & C++14 mandatory).
- Development of high-performance, user-friendly applications.
- Client-side development experience.
- Multi-threaded application development.
- REST, JSON, and Web Services experience.
- Crash reporting and debugging on target hardware.

Essential




- Solid background in software specification, design, and development.
- Experience in defining test plans and test data.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Object-Oriented Design (UML) and Design Patterns.
- Architecture design and reusable code/library development.
- Coding standards, documentation, and best practices.
- Experience with:
- Automated Testing (Google Test, VSTest)
- CI/CD, TDD, SOLID, Clean Code
- Scrum or Kanban
- Git, Jenkins
- DOORS, TestRail, JIRA

- Collaboration with test teams to optimize performance.

Desirable
- Experience in a similar industry.
- Knowledge of other languages: C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, PHP, XML.
- Efficient memory and disk I/O management.
- Experience developing simulators and test harnesses.
