Role Description The Bar Captain is a full-time, on-site role based at Fortune Park Hotels Ltd. in Vellore. This role oversees daily bar operations, including supervising bar staff, coordinating service, and ensuring that guests receive prompt, courteous, and efficient hospitality.

Responsibilities include managing beverage preparation and presentation, maintaining stock and inventory levels, monitoring hygiene and safety standards, and supporting compliance with hotel and brand guidelines.

The Bar

Captain collaborates with the Food & Beverage and Sales teams to promote menu offerings, upsell beverages, and support special events or promotions.



Daily tasks also involve training team members, preparing shift schedules, handling guest feedback, and working closely with management to meet revenue and service quality goals.

Qualifications

- Strong customer service and guest relationship skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality, courteous, and professional bar service.
- Sound knowledge of food & beverage operations, including cocktails, wines, spirits, bar menus, and basic food safety and hygiene practices.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with guests, team members, and management, including clear, respectful verbal and written communication.
- Experience in training and guiding bar or F&B; staff, including onboarding, performance support, and maintaining service standards.
- Sales and upselling skills to promote beverages, special offerings, and hotel services, contributing to revenue and guest satisfaction.
- Prior experience in a bar, lounge, or hotel F&B; environment; supervisory or team leader experience is preferred.
- Diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field is advantageous.
- Ability to work versatile shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency for POS systems, order entry, and reporting; familiarity with hotel systems is an added benefit.
