Azure Automation Engineer

Location: Remote (US Shift – Must be able to work in EST Time Zone)

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Azure Automation Engineer with solid experience in cloud automation, Infrastructure as Code, scripting, and workflow automation. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure services and automation frameworks to design, implement, and maintain highly scalable, secure, and reliable automated solutions that support our cloud operations.

Experience with AI-driven automation or leveraging AI tools to enhance workflows is a major plus.

Key Responsibilities

● Design, develop, and maintain automated solutions to support cloud infrastructure provisioning,

configuration, and operational tasks in Azure.

● Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for provisioning cloud resources consistently and repeatedly.

● Create and maintain automation scripts and workflows using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, and other scripting languages as needed.

● Integrate automation solutions with Azure DevOps pipelines, Git workflows, and CI/CD processes.

● Develop runbooks, scheduled tasks, event-driven workflows, and automated remediation processes.

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand automation requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.

● Monitor, analyze, and optimize existing automation to ensure performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

● Implement logging, alerting, and reporting for automated processes.

● Leverage AI tools/technologies for intelligent automation, workflow analysis, and optimization (chatbots,

generative AI assistants, machine-assisted decision support, etc.).





● Stay current with Azure innovations and best practices to improve automation capabilities and operational excellence.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

● 8+ years of experience in cloud automation, system engineering, DevOps, or related roles.

● Strong experience with Microsoft Azure services, including but not limited to:

● Azure Automation

● Azure Functions

● Azure Logic Apps

● Azure DevOps

● Azure Resource Manager (ARM)

● Terraform: Hands-on expertise in authoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting IaC modules and environments.

● Scripting & Programming: Advanced skills in:

● PowerShell (automation modules, runbooks)

● Azure CLI

● Python (automation scripts, API integrations)

● Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON/YAML, and automation integration patterns.

● Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

● Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, etc.).

● Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

● Ability to work independently in a remote setup adhering to EST work hours.

Preferred or Nice to Have:

● Experience using AI or Machine Learning tools (e.g., Azure Cognitive Services, Open AI APIs, Generative

AI tools) to enhance automation workflows or build intelligent automation solutions.

● Exposure to chatbot automation, predictive automation, or AI-augmented runbook creation.

● Experience in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) or microservices architecture.

● Familiarity with other automation and orchestration tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Puppet, etc.).

Certifications such as

● Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert

● Hashi Corp Certified: Terraform Associate

● Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Azure Solutions Architect
