Assistant Manager – Housekeeping

Location: Gurugram

Position Overview The Assistant Manager – Housekeeping is responsible for maintaining consistently high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, upkeep, and presentation across the club.

The role oversees the day-to-day deployment and performance of outsourced housekeeping manpower and works closely with the Facility Manager and other operational departments to ensure all member-facing and back-of-house areas are maintained to the standards expected of a premium hospitality environment.

This is a hands-on operational role requiring strong floor presence, attention to detail, effective manpower management, and the ability to respond quickly to changing operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping Operations

- Oversee day-to-day housekeeping operations across the entire club, including member-facing areas, washrooms, restaurants and common areas, offices, back-of-house areas, and other operational spaces.
- Conduct regular rounds and inspections to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, and upkeep standards are consistently maintained.
- Ensure washrooms and other high-traffic areas are inspected and serviced at appropriate intervals throughout operating hours.
- Identify housekeeping deficiencies and ensure immediate corrective action.
- Plan and supervise periodic deep cleaning and special cleaning requirements.
- Ensure cleaning schedules, checklists, and inspection records are maintained accurately.
- Maintain strong floor presence during peak operating periods and high-footfall events.

Outsourced Manpower & Vendor Management

- Manage the day-to-day deployment and supervision of outsourced housekeeping manpower.
- Prepare and monitor manpower deployment based on club operations, occupancy, events, peak periods, and business requirements.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, grooming, discipline, productivity, and performance of outsourced housekeeping personnel.
- Ensure adequate manpower is available across shifts and coordinate replacements in case of absenteeism or operational requirements.




- Monitor the housekeeping vendor's adherence to agreed service levels, manpower commitments, and operating standards.
- Regularly review vendor performance and escalate service gaps to the Facility Manager.
- Verify attendance, manpower deployment, and other relevant records required for vendor billing.
- Coordinate with the vendor for training, replacement, counselling, or corrective action where performance standards are not met.

Member-Facing Standards

- Ensure all member-facing areas are maintained to a consistently high standard throughout operating hours.
- Pay particular attention to cleanliness, presentation, odour control, detailing, and overall appearance of washrooms and high-footfall areas.
- Ensure housekeeping personnel maintain appropriate grooming, hygiene, behaviour, and service etiquette while working in member areas.
- Respond promptly and professionally to housekeeping-related member feedback or operational concerns.
- Anticipate cleaning requirements rather than relying only on reactive servicing.

Events & Operational Turnarounds

- Coordinate housekeeping requirements for events, private hires, programming, and other club activities.
- Plan manpower and cleaning requirements before, during, and after events.
- Ensure quick and effective turnaround of spaces between events and regular club operations.
- Coordinate closely with Events & Programming, Private Hire, F&B;, and other relevant teams on setup and turnaround requirements.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Work closely with Facility, Engineering, F&B;, Events & Programming, Security, and other operational teams to maintain overall club standards.
- Identify maintenance defects, damages, leakages, lighting issues, plumbing concerns, or other facility-related observations during housekeeping rounds and report them promptly to the appropriate team.
- Follow up on reported snags that affect cleanliness, presentation, or member experience.
- Support the Facility Manager in ensuring the club is operationally ready for daily opening and throughout operating hours.

Hygiene, Safety & Compliance





- Ensure housekeeping personnel follow prescribed cleaning methods, hygiene standards, safety procedures, and appropriate use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ensure appropriate signage and safety precautions are used during cleaning activities, particularly in member-facing areas.
- Ensure housekeeping operations comply with applicable safety, hygiene, and organisational requirements.
- Immediately escalate any safety hazards, hygiene concerns, pest-related observations, or other operational risks.
- Support internal inspections and operational audits relating to housekeeping and facility standards.

Team Supervision & Training

- Conduct daily briefings with housekeeping supervisors and team members regarding deployment, priorities, events, and special requirements.
- Ensure outsourced housekeeping personnel are adequately trained on club standards, cleaning procedures, grooming, member interaction, and workplace conduct.
- Coach and guide supervisors and team members on identified performance gaps.
- Build accountability within the housekeeping team for assigned areas and standards.

Candidate Profile

- Experience: 4–6 years of experience in Housekeeping, preferably within luxury hotels, premium hospitality, clubs, or similar high-service environments.
- Prior experience supervising housekeeping operations and managing outsourced manpower is preferred.
- Education: Diploma or degree in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management preferred, but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of housekeeping operations, cleaning standards, hygiene practices, manpower deployment, and vendor management.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and address gaps in cleanliness and presentation.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with vendors and internal operational teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, member-facing hospitality setting.
- Ability to manage multiple operational priorities and respond quickly to changing requirements.
- Basic working knowledge of MS Office and operational reporting.

Operational Requirements

- This is a shift-based operational role.
- The incumbent must be comfortable working weekends, public holidays, evenings, and varying shifts based on business requirements.
- Regular floor presence and active supervision of housekeeping operations are essential to the role.
- The role may require opening or closing responsibilities depending on the operational roster.
