Key Responsibilities:
Cover Assam politics, state government, political parties, elections and major political developments.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior political leaders, ministers, MLAs and key party sources.
Have regular access to CMO/Chief Minister's Office sources and senior government officials.
Break exclusive political stories, developments and political appointments.
Conduct exclusive interviews with the Chief Minister, ministers and senior political leaders.
Generate breaking news, political inputs, exclusive stories and ground reports.
Track political strategy, cabinet decisions, party meetings, elections and internal political developments.
Attend press conferences, political meetings, government briefings and major political events.
Build a solid network across both ruling and opposition parties.
Provide accurate, verified and timely information to the newsroom.
Work closely with the editorial desk to develop political stories and special reports.
Travel across Assam when required for political coverage and ground reporting.
