Company Description SONKUL AGRO INDUSTRIES PVT. LTD. (previously Bio Organic Industries) manufactures and markets certified organic agricultural inputs for a wide range of crops and growing environments. The company’s products include organic manure and fertilizers, biofertilizers, cakes and mixtures of cakes, botanical extracts, sticky traps, pheromone traps, and pheromone lures and related chemicals.
SONKUL AGRO also offers biofungicides, bioinsecticides, bionematicides, viral insecticides, and beneficial predators and parasitoids for sustainable pest management. In addition, the company develops specialized mixtures designed for home and kitchen gardens, supporting environmentally responsible and user-friendly cultivation.
Role Description The Agricultural Entomologist will be responsible for studying and managing insect populations affecting crops and organic inputs, with a focus on environmentally sound pest management solutions. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring pests in field and greenhouse conditions, conducting entomological research and trials, analyzing data, and providing recommendations for integrated pest management strategies aligned with the company’s organic products. The role involves collaborating with production, R&D;, and marketing teams to develop, validate, and improve insect-related products such as bioinsecticides, pheromone traps, and biological control agents.
The Agricultural
Entomologist will also prepare technical documentation, training materials, and support growers with practical guidance on pest control and product use. This is a full-time, in office role based in Nashik.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Entomology and Agricultural Entomology, with the ability to identify insect pests, beneficial species, and their life cycles.
- Applied Pest Control and Integrated Pest Management skills, including design and implementation of sustainable, organic-compatible pest management programs.
- Academic background in Zoology or related life sciences, with knowledge of insect ecology and interactions within agricultural systems.
- Laboratory Skills for conducting bioassays, maintaining insect cultures, handling biological control agents, and recording experimental data accurately.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Entomology, Agriculture, Zoology, or a closely related field.
- Experience or strong interest in organic farming inputs, biological control, and environmentally friendly agricultural practices.
- Ability to work in field conditions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Basic proficiency in data analysis, report writing, and use of common office and research software; familiarity with safety and quality standards in agricultural input manufacturing is an advantage.
