Safety Engineer – Surat Metro – 5+ Years Experience

Required Qualifications And Experience

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or relevant discipline.
Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience after B.E./B.Tech.
Experience in Elevated Metro, Metro Stations, Viaduct, Bridge, Flyover, or other infrastructure projects will be preferred.
Strong knowledge of construction safety, HSE/SHE requirements, risk assessment, and safety procedures.
Positive knowledge of safety audits, inspections, incident investigation, and statutory compliance.
Strong coordination skills with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and implement safety policies, procedures, and HSE requirements at the project site.




Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and conditions.
Ensure compliance with approved Method Statements, Risk Assessments, JSA/JHA, and Permit-to-Work systems.
Monitor safety during work at height, lifting operations, scaffolding, excavation, and other construction activities.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, training, and awareness programs.
Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with project safety standards.
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and project teams on safety-related matters.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare necessary reports.
Maintain safety records, inspection reports, training records, and other HSE documentation.
Support safety audits and ensure timely closure of observations and non-compliances.
Assist the Project Manager in maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring smooth execution of the Surat Metro project.
